In the Alexander and Sosik labs, Julian uses a combination of bioinformatics and flow cytometry tools to understand how the physiology and diversity of marine protists impacts carbon and nutrient cycling. Before starting his graduate research in 2026, Julian graduated from Hamilton College in 2024 where he contributed to developing pCO2 sensor systems and quantifying carbon uptake rates by coastal macroalgae.
